Brian McKnight

Brian McKnight

“Brian McKnight”

To Robin Hicks:  Thanks for all you do.  You are truly a gem!!

The Brian McKnight concert was simply wonderful.  I felt a little bad for the men in the audience because Brian was performing for all the ladies in the house.  (Although I can’t prove it….I’m almost positive that Brian was singing directly to me at one time!)

Summer is here…Kids are out of school…  Teachers are able to breathe again… Cute clothes are back.  Stay tuned to OnyxLouisville where you’ll find all the happenings (and possibly win tickets too!)

Thanks also for the birthday wishes. The Onyx readers have hearts full of gold!!

Birthday 2007

“Birthday”

Thanks to everyone that came out skating Friday night to support charity.  We raised over $1000 for the organizations!! Look for “Skating Part II” on Friday, June 22 at Treo Roller Rink.

Thank you also to everyone that came to the “Lunch-n-Learn” luncheon at my office. This week I celebrated both death (my mother) and life (my birthday) and was unsure how I would handle it emotionally.  Luckily I was blessed to be surrounded by friends and also made some new ones.   I learned that giving back and bringing people together can be a very powerful thing. I was able to realize that we all have our struggles in life, but your faith will pull you through.

Bunnies

“Bunnies”

I have never been an animal lover or hater.  I’ve been animal neutral.  One morning I looked out my bathroom window and saw two rabbits in the backyard.  One was close to the house and the other was clear across the yard close to the fence.  Although they were far in distance, they were facing each other.  Each morning for almost a week I would look out the window and there they both stood in the same position…. and then they were gone.  I kinda missed those bunnies.

Well several days passed and I was downstairs looking outside.  One of the bunnies was back in the normal position.  But what was even more amazing was the new baby bunny that hopped across the yard.  I smiled with joy as I watched this beautiful creature cross just a foot in front of me. It made me better appreciate nature, the gift of life and finding peace in simple things.

(As a tribute to the two rabbits, I’ve included this photo from the Playboy party (lol). The colors are inverted – the couch was really white and my dress mainly black) …

Derby Weekend 2007

“Derby Weekend”

To whom it may concern:

For those of you that saw us out on Thursday night, I hope we didn’t offend you.  It was a cold winter, we’ve been at the gym and we have been waiting to get out and be seen.

Sincerely,

Michelle’s legs

Derby weekend was very enjoyable.  My dates for the weekend were my closest friends: Renee, Shannon and Tioka!  We went to Ernesto’s on Thursday, the Playboy Party and Kye’s on Friday, and the Grand Gala and Griffs on Saturday.  Don’t worry, though, I went to church bright and early on Sunday morning and then came home and crashed!!!  Thank you also to my pal Zach who is always willing to ‘bust a move with me’ on the dance floor when a good song comes on and to Doug Bibby, Elliott Horne and Gip Palm for all the ticket giveaways for the Onyx Louisville readers.

What Happens in Vegas/Louisville

“What happens in Vegas is not Louisville”

There’s a saying….. “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”  Guess what folks?  We don’t live in Las Vegas!  We live in Louisville, Kentucky where everyone (or at least one of their friends) knows your name.   Have fun!  Be safe! PARTY LIKE A ROCK STAR!!  Just remember we all have ot return to work on Monday.  I’ll be out some of everywhere, including the Grand Gala.  If you see me out, please say hello because I love meeting the OnyxLouisville readers.  I’m a non-drinker so all I’ll be drinking is “Water on the Rocks”…. but you can find me on the dance floor!
