Pregnancy, Insomnia and Bloating – Oh my! (10 weeks)

Yuk, yuk, yuk!  I love to sleep.  Sleep is one of my closer friends in life. So why are we having so many issues with each other?  Why does she no longer want to hang out with me?  I keep trying to get in contact with her, but for some reason Sleep always sends Insomnia instead.   Help me please!!

Our First Thanksgiving (9 weeks/6 days)

Milton was able to fly in the afternoon of Thanksgiving for our first married Thanksgiving together.  We enjoyed eating lunch with just the two of us and later went around down visiting family and friends.  On Friday, his mother and brother drove down from IN and his mother brought some amazing food (including chocolate cake!).

Milton saw many of my videos for the first time and felt a little left out so we made a video together!

World’s Largest Uterus? (9 weeks/1 day)

Nobody said that being pregnant was 100% cute.  Actually, if you ask most women, they’ll tell you the didn’t really like being pregnant and it’s highly overrated.

In addition to the regular funky symptoms like nausea and tiredness, I’ve also noticed that I’ve been most constipated.  Talk about you at your “not best” – there are no pretty faces that you make when pregnant.

I also have had mild cramps lately and the ever-so-informative Google told me that (as long as there is no bleeding), it’s normal because my uterus is expanding.  For a couple of days I felt like I was in the running for the world’s largest uterus ’cause those pains kept on coming. That just means Baby Turner is coming further along and is cooking just fine!

Missing my parents and reflections (8 weeks/6 days)

The IUS Banquet I attended this evening was simply amazing.  The production was over the top and it was a grand way to celebrate 70 years.  I’m glad my mother was able to be a part of over 30 years in the IUS nursing department.  I loved being there to represent her, but missed her at the same time.  I started to reflect on raising my kid(s) without my parents and know how much they would have loved/spoiled Baby Turner.

I also started thinking about the different my parents made in the community and now am doing some self reflection on what I want to do to leave my own personal mark!

Formal Dress Dilemma (8 weeks/ 6 days)

IUS Chancellor’s Medallion 70th Anniversary – attire: formal.

I love dressing up mostly because I love dresses.  I’m not really a girlie girl so it doesn’t take me long to get dressed to go out.  I gave myself 30 minutes to get ready and all was well UNTIL I started trying on dresses.  Project fail went into full effect!

Belly Tricks (8 weeks/ 5 days)

When you’re pregnant and you look at your belly everyday, you often find random and strange things about yourself.  I realized this one Friday night, yes Friday night.  I want to entitle it “Pregnant Woman Gone Wild”.
